My powders for the old .300 usually started with I4350, I think if I were beginning again, might hit H4350.. But I 4350 has worked for 40 plus years.. My next favorite is Re 22, especially with heavier bullets.. I have a large supply of these so never tried many newer offerings.. I use mostly CCI 250's or Fed. 215's.. I am sure you will get other suggestions on more modern stuff, but these are my standby's.

1000yd is not far for a 300Win, there's no problem with the 300WM getting to 1000 with just about any bullet/powder combo, but a 208 A-Max and H-1000 fired-up by a 215M and the 300WM will do a lot more...that combo would get you to 1800yds or farther. Berger and Hornady have some higher BC options, but at this point, it'll come down to what bullets are in stock somewhere.

Try RL-22 with 185 gr. Berger VLD. 74 grains is close to max. in my 300 WM so work up carefully. Also experiment with OAL. My rifle likes it seated long with this load but the best OAL varies from rifle to rifle depending on the throat length.

Any of the Bergers 185 grs on up will easily get you to a 1000 yds but I'd give the 215 gr Hybrid and H1000 a go, I use 79.0 grs of H1000 behind the 185 gr VLD's and have taken them out to 800 yds with good results, but I find the Hybrids are less fussy with seating depth over all!

I am running H1000 behind 190 VLD, with a 28" barrel I am getting 3110fps.

IMR4350 for 180's and H1000 for 200+ IMHO. My accuracy load is 77-grs and 200Gr NAB.
Good Shooting!

Great Advice I have not been able to find any 190 or heavier bullets in stock got my hands on 178 a-max. I have been shooting 3.450 oal. I have no intentions of going past 1000 as of right now.cci 250 primers. What length do u trim casings i trim to 2.610? I have searched high and low for some h-1000 no luck there.

73g H4831 lit by 215 GMMs pushing 190MKs is a good combo.

H-1000 is the powder of choice for the heavies, but might not be the best match for that bullet anyway.
You can drive it faster, but only 2850 fps is needed to keep that bullet to above the trans-sonic zone at 1000yds. That is easily attainable in the 300 Win, so a faster powder that you might have on hand will work and might be better accuracy wise.
Many powders would give good results; any powder between 4895 and 4831. If you have 4895, it burns consistently at the lower pressure you will be using.

I have had very good results with 200 grain Nosler Partitions, Fed 215 Primers, Win brass and Retumbo powder with loads from Hodgdon web site. Out of my 24" barrel getting just shy of 3000 fps and great accuracy out to 600 yards which is the farthest I have shot that combo. Sleeker bullets should do better.

TopCat, Assume H1000 were not the best powder for accuracy, what are you next two picks after it??????? I have mostly used Re22. But have not used the very heavy bullets in my shooting as 600 yards was about the limit of my needs..

H-1000 / 208 A-Max is a proven combo, but I run into many shooters that use RL-22 that think it's as good or better. I also see RL-25, Retumbo...I found that with H-1000 it's easy to find a good load, but probably a 100 or more other different combos would work well.
I have a preference for Hodgdon Extreme powders, but if you find a good load that works in your rifle it really doesn't matter.
