Totally original Savage 1899 with special order Bird's eye maple stock. Factory letter as well as Von Lengerke & Detmold in NYC sales book pages from G & H historian Bob Beech.

Yours could be the twin to mine, down to the Pachmyer grips. I added S&W Hogues to mine. It's a very good pistol, and velocity frequently exceeds 1911 speeds. They've also appreciated a lot in recent years.

Although the gun itself is not rare having a Montana Armory stamp on it makes it so. 1892 SRC in 38-40. Montana Armory was a sporting goods store in Bozeman, Montana in the late 1800's...

This post made me remember the Burgess I have in the back of the gun safe. Its the same sort of slide action as Schrapnel's rifle but it's a 12 gauge shotgun (not Damascus)with about a 20 inch barrel. It's got a sort of rear sight that serves as a barrel to the top of receiver latch. Unlatch it and the gun folds up around a hinge pin at the bottom of the receiver, the muzzle fitting into a recess in the belly of the stock.

That M21 20g of yours is superb. Thats a holy grail that I never found. A 20 ga SXS is what I prefer.

not necessarily shipped to some banana republic....have read that Winchester made some like this in most of their lever actions cause they were constantly in search of military contracts like every other rifle manufacturer as thats where the real money was so every time they came out with a new rifle they made up some military style guns to send out to various war departments around the world and at home and some hunters would buy them aswell thinking they were more rugged than the standard rifles given the full length stock protecting everything plus made it nice doubling as a walking stick at times like the mannlicher rifles.......

While not perzactly "factory" it may have a little collector value at some point.

The brass, Stembridge 5 in one blanks pictured with it are rare and collectable now too, since they went out of business. The "F" on the inside of the blanks stand for "Full" load. They also had 3/4, half, and 1/4 loads for making movies.

Here is a rifle my brother owns i been trying to accumulate no luck so far !!! Its a Bullard deluxe express rifle in 50-115 caliber,i think they only made 7 deluxe rifles in this caliber.

The M1907 is not very common, with its tang sight. The 1920 Savage is another one that is uncommon.

Savage 99C made in Spain. Between 400 and 1000 were fit for sale, we believe, and very, very few are still NIB.

I'm surprised Ol Burgess didn't autograph it inside the trunk ( like the GTO). But yup despite some very nice pieces, it appears he is in the lead.

We think the Spanish guns were from 1992'ish, wood looks very similar to any 99C from the 80's through the late 90's tho.


I'll post a few pics for Fug. Three Savage military muskets in the middle here. Second from top is an Montreal Home Guard musket with bayonet, one of 800 or so made at the start of WWI. Third down is an early Savage 1899 musket, one of only a couple that I've seen in the early catalogued configuration. Third is a Savage 1895 musket, again one of only a couple that I've ever seen or heard of.




Finest group of Savage saddle ring carbines you're ever likely to see in a variety of calibers and including an 1895 SRC on the top.

I've got a Winchester Model 20 .410 that I'm fond of. Only about 20,000 were built. Many are rustbuckets and wallhangers. Mine is 85% and very nice.
