I can't find the pictures, but I found the link to this thread where we talked about an extremely rare gun.

I was told it is one of 4 known original mauser 1888's with a 3 shot magazine and an underbarrel lever for a side swing 16 gauge shotgun.

If i remeber correctly the ask was about $15K.

and the new 223AI thread

I love it here!

Nice! That's what I'm talking about. You have pics?

Can't post pics from here. Not enough bandwidth for Photbucket but here's a link to an old thread with a couple of pics.

No pictures, but I once owned a PO Ackley left hand Mauser in 270 Winchester. One of 50 made before his business closed in the early 1970s.

Several months ago I and my co-workers were honored to examine and fondle Chief Bedford's , Chief of Police, Cisco Texas; Colt single action army. He was killed in the famous Santa Claus Bank Robbery in Cisco Texas, December 23, 1927. It was his BBQ gun. Nickel plated, engraved, and stocked with mother of pearl bull head grips and ruby eyes. Not a factory job, but cool nonetheless. The chief was not packing this gun the day was shot down.

Out of respect for the family we did not photograph the gun. But it was quite a treat to hold such a piece of history!

The whole PhotoBucket thing makes posting pictures on here more difficult than I prefer to do so I dont post pictures very often.

I have 3 M70 Carbines; a pre-war 1948 250/3000, a transition 1949 SG 257 Robert, and a post war 1950 22 hornet. You don't see many M70 carbines and when you do they are usually in '06 or 270.

The rarest rifle I've seen (but wasn't allowed to handle) was one of a pair of Holland & Holland side-by-side double rifles in .22 Long Rifle. Bob Peterson (who owned Guns & Ammo, Peterson's Hunting, etc.) bought it after the original owner split up the pair. Bob eventually ended up with the other ater a while.

My rarest isn't especially rare in numbers: A Winchester Lee-Navy Sporter. Winchester made round 15,000 Lee Navy rifles, but only around 1700 were Sporters. I've seen a couple of military rifles before, but never laid eyes on a Sporter until buying this one.

A Ugartechea 12 bore slug gun. Called the Jabali. Weighs just under 7# with its .002" choked 25" barrels and throws multiple pairs of 1 oz Brenneke MP's inside 2" at 50 yards landing right on top of the front sight. A proven hog killer. Only one I have ever seen.

Back in the early 90s I saw a pump rifle at a gunshow, and from a distance it looked like a a Remington 141, but it was a Savage
in 300 Savage of course. Seller claimed it was a R&D gun that never made it to the market.

Would love to have a Lee-Navy to go with all my Spanish American war stuff!

My Ansley Fox XE is the rarer, early version with the deep chiseled engraving and the fox in the nose down position. Probably about 120 or so made like this. English stock adds to the rarity.

There is an English SXS 10 gauge for sale locally. Straightforward looking gun, sidelock hammer double, with Jones underlever. The strange feature is straight rifling. I've never seen nor heard of another.
