The Remington brass for the 300 Weatherby is just fine. It is good brass and lasts quite a long time.

However, it is thicker than Norma made brass and the pressures are higher with the same loads. I find I have to reduce my loads 1 to 1.5 grains with the Remington headstamped brass compared to Norma.

So, do not hesitate to use Remington brass, just do not mix it with the Norma (Weatherby) cases.

Thanks, I have a bunch of 180 grain bullets and some IMR-4831 I'm going to try.

The rifle is a Japanese Mark V. My son bought it for $400.00. The original stock was cracked and somebody put it in a Ramline stock. I may see if I can repair the original stock or just drop it in a B&C stock.

Commercial ammo sure is high. $60.00 a box is the cheapest I have seen.
