Thanks everyone. Tomorrow is the test.

Now some other bad news (although not on the same scale). What we thought was an almost sure tag to draw for archery elk in WY this year, wasnt such a sure thing. 6 pretty bummed guys here in Alex tonite. The odds were in our favor, yet we still got shut out.

That's not bad news BM...that's good news. Now you're nearly a shoein for next season! Cole will be in my thoughts and prayers today.

GG had his tests yesterday but I haven't heard back other than he REALLY wants to go home instead of the hospital.

I got a text from GG today. His heart isn't working like it should and will have some hills to climb. He was thinking he may get to come home today or tomorrow thought, which is great. I'll refer to him to give you guys the full update, if he chooses, on what's going on though.

Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

BM... any word on Cole?

It was sure nice to get on here and see all the kind comments, and concern expressed on my behalf. I am home now. It was a tough week. This started as me not being able to get my breath, fatigued, couldn't lay down and get to sleep without breating issues, swollen ankles-all textbook symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure.

'Went in last week on Tuesday to the ER at Fairview Ridges-Burnsville. Kinda got the feeling it was serious when they immediately went to work on me and had me hooked up to about every monitoring device they had in emergency. Admitted me Tuesday afternoon, and by Tuesday night was told it was Congestive Heart Failure. Started in with meds, and got an angiogram. Angio showed no blockages. It appears a viral infection I had about a month ago led to this. 'Got an ambulance ride to Fairview Southdale the day before yesterday for an MRI of my heart. MRI revealed my heart was pumping at 11% of capacity, while normal capacity is 50-55%. CHF causes fluid to accumulate because the heart can't move enough of it around to be processed by the organs. They've had me on a diuretic to make me pizz more, and more often, and blood pressure meds which help heart function. The scary side of everything here, is I've been fitted with a vest-mounted defibrillator. I have to wear this thing 24 hours a day for at least the next two weeks, and probably longer, depending on how my heart function improves. I am feeling better now-I can get up and move around a bit without getting winded. All I know for sure is, I'm glad to be home. My wife's been a true saint. I can't correctly put into words what her care for me the last week even means. No work, no driving until we get me back on track, so she's stuck with me for a while. I've got a whole bag full of meds, and about 10 appointments with the doctors and specialists in the next few weeks. It's truly a blessing to know you guys were thinking about me. I will be aggressively looking for chances to return the favor, guys. Special thanks to T-Zone for passing along info to you guys. For those who haven't had a chance to meet Tom, he's top shelf all the way.

Thanks again, guys.

We are all happy that you are able to come home. Just take it easy and don't try to rush things. When I had by-pass surgery 2008 I tried to "speed up the system". Found out real quick you don't do such.
We are all concerned and we care and ask you to keep us informed as to your progress.

That's a detailed report gopher, thanks for that.

Remember what I said in my PM, nothing wrong with working off the radar on this, don't put yourself out by keeping us all up to speed. Take care of yourself and focus on your immediate surroundings as a priority.

And stay off the main forum where the trolls can test the endurance of a perfectly healthy heart. wink

Thanks for the update and welcome home, GG. Make sure you follow your doctors orders as frustrating as that can be.

Keep us posted when you can, but don't make us a priority. Your health is your number one priority.

In the mean time, we'll all keep you in our prayers.

I'm glad you're back home Jeff! Nothing adds to your stress like wanting to be in your cave and you can't. Chf can and is handled to the point where you can return to your previous activities. My ex-fil has it and still hunts, fishes, travels, works, all the normal stuff. He just can't do it at the pace of a 25 year old anymore.

Take care of yourself first and foremost. Then come BS with us on the fire. We'll still have a stump for ya.

I've all ready talked to Cathy about the need to get a lighter rifle, and an ATV. If I gotta be sick, I might as while hunt in style. Tom-gonna be hitting you up t go ATV shopping with me. Used, of course, and hopefully a 4 WD Honda. I like your ATV-hoping for something along those lines. As for a new rifle, I'm thinking a Model 7 chambered for .243 or some other lightweight option. Junior's all ready got his eyes on my 99. Maybe this is the year he gets it.
