Did any of you see this at the SHOT show or do you know anything about this? http://mylabradar.com/It looks interesting. Sounds too good to be true. And of course, at what cost? 405wcf

Was thinking of developing something along the same lines as a fun project a while back. Would have been expensive to prototype as a one-off project for minimal gain over my Pro Chrono for hobby use. Not to mention the time involved. I would like to be pleasantly surprised but I think it's going to be pretty spendy.

At SHOT, they quoted me just under $500 retail.
Some shooting knowledge: Don't stand in front of the muzzle. Some hunting knowledge: Too much noise ruins the hunt.

That would be a very good price considering what goes into it.

Gasman is buying one for me, I'll give a full report when I'm done testing it.

Yeah, but we'll be testing my own special loads for Trevor's rifle...
I'm sure we'll be writing tickets based on what the radar display shows!

Looks pretty cool. As I read this it can measure the velocity of the bullet at various ranges out to 100 yards. Seems like it would be able to give one the exact ballistic coefficient of your bullet as well if you knew the velocity at the muzzle and again at 100 yards.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

Jim,
Not exactly. The first 100 yards is where BC often varies considerably, due to the bullet having to settle down after it leaves the muzzle wobbling slightly.

I really like the non.sensitivity to light. Even more I like how it would work at our range. Our range is narrow w/staggered berms at 25 50 100 200 300 yds. Looks like this just sets up to the side and would allow pistol shooting at 25.....3030 at 100....reg rifle at 200 or 300 w/o having to move and realign. Its always fun to take some different guns and mix it up! This lets it happen w/o all the monkeying around.

Looks very cool. But will it give us more useful info than a regular chronograph. ?

How does this thing work? Do you just shoot in the vicinity of the apparatus and it records the velocity. powdr
