Miles is referring to my appetite for his cayenne peppers, Ed, not your beans. Although I expect I'll make a fair hand at seeing there are none of those left over, either. Since the rondyvoo is happening before crappie spawn, here, best I will be able to do is catfish filets. Ain't likely - but possible - that I can catch enough, quick enough, to provide 'em fresh. Hopefully the date range for the frozen ones will be a couple weeks or less, but being restricted to legal methods of procurement, even that is problematic.

I had forgotten about your appetite for those peppers. Did anyone else there get any of them? Ed

There was at least one or two who found where I hid the ones Miles brought to Quemado and eat 4 or 5 of 'em.
I had no idea they'd look under the hood of my pickup.

That explains the comments I overheard talking about "nothing in the back or cab except crackers and vienna sausages". Ed

Thanks, Ed, for the list. In addition to the paper plates/plastic utensils, will also bring paper bowls for the soupier foods. Am thinking 45 folks times 4 such meals plus sensible overage - or might we need more?
Are we asking folks to bring their own coffee/tea mugs, or do we need some paper cups for that - and do we need same for cold bevs, or plan to drink from the cans/bottles?
Seems better to make as little trash as possible - we can burn the paper stuff, P

Paul,
That sounds about right for the bowls. As to hot drink cups, most folks at the other gatherings have brought their own, but we did use some foam cups. That would be a good thing to have.
We could also use cold drink cups such as Solo cups. I am in the process of making a list and checking it twice for food & drink as well as items we will need to cook, serve, and eat.

Ok... White Perch... Texas Coonasses have different names for stuff that I have to "ASSUME" what it is. We all know what "ASSUME" does so... Are you talking about Sand Bass? They are called White Bass south of Waco but... Are we talking about the same fish? Y'all also call Largemouth Bass Green Trout.Or at least they do in Louisiana. I want everyone to know that the Southeastern Texans in my family aren't mentioned, except in whispers.

Okay... sac a lait. You can eat these, huh? Well, you got me on this one Cuz. I wouldn't have thought that you were talking about sac-a-lait{crappy}. Coonass nomenclature is hard to keep up with but bring as many of them fishies as you can. Ain't nothing better.

I'll do my best. They should start moving into the shallows to spawn in the next week or two.

I have been looking over the items that folks have agreed to bring so far. I need some input if you see something we could do differently or add. In addition to the food, we will also need other beverages such as bottled water and soft drinks, cups, paper towels, napkins, snacks, etc. I figure folks will bring whatever beer, wine, or liquor they prefer. Here are the menus;
Supper Friday; Fish Coleslaw Red Beans Fries Barbara's Soup
Breakfast Saturday; Scrambled Eggs Sausage & Bacon Picante Sauce Flour tortillas Breakfast Pastries Coffee Tea
Lunch Saturday; Crawfish Potatoes Corn Burgers Hot Dogs Chips Sweet Tea Unsweetened Tea
Saturday Supper; Brisket Shrimp Potato Salad Red Beans Cobbler Cake SMores?
Breakfast Sunday; Scrambled Eggs Sausage Picante Sauce Flour Tortillas Breakfast Pastries Coffee Tea
This is the rough outline. I will post an up-to-date attendee list next and ask folks to confirm or deny that they are coming so we can get a more accurate head count for the meals. I realize that folks like Bob and Kent won't know until much closer if they can make it or not, just give us your best guess.
