I've seen DW barrels added to S&W's. A gunsmithing shop I worked at in the early '90's the master gunsmith there told me that the barrel threading was the same, and it was the easiest conversion you could imagine. I've honestly never had a S&W frame and DW barrel in the same room to give it a try; but I always liked the idea. The one I saw was a S&W 19 frame, with a "Pistol Pac" barrle swap system; thought it was brilliant.
Your gun just takes that to a much more logical place (.44/45), and the caliber swap is just a stroke of brilliance. Do you know if the threading was the same also? I'm betting it is. If not, one could easily make his own barrel, and use the DW shroud.
The barrel system of DW was brilliant. S&W copied the tensioned inner barrel first on the .460 and now on many other revolvers. But the Dan Wesson action was a mess. A bit of a silly design, and the manufacture of the internals could have been much better.
So your gun gives you the best of both worlds. Fantastic.
Oh and I'll bet she's a shooter to boot.

Coolest? No one was ever cooler than Bogie, so his 1908 Strasser-Offer has gotta be the coolest ever: I don't have one - - so I'll just offer up this picture again:

Another one I think is cool - a Commander built by King's Gunworks back in the early 70's when they were a top shop. Note the S&W revolver rear sight...

That'd be worth seeing. I don't know if you could beat Oklahoma for museums oriented towards the west. If you can swing by the Tulsa area, you've got the JM Davis gun museum at Claremore on the northeast edge of the metro area. I've never been even though it's only a little over a hundred miles, nor have I been to Will Roger's home there in the same town. On into Tulsa you have the Gilcrease Museum which contains western artifacts that are just awesome along with original paintings and bronzes from Russell, Catlin and others. Not as "western" but very much worth seeing is Philbrook Museum, there in Tulsa as well. Just northeast of the metro area and southwest of Bartlesville is Woolaroc, probably the best western attraction I've ever seen. Overall, for the kind of stuff I like to do, I'd rate it even above the Cowboy Museum. I can't speak specifically to the Davis or Will Roger's places as I haven't been, but I've been to all the others including the Cowboy Museum multiple times and they are all world-class. The only thing is even a quick perusal of all these places would take probably three days minimum and that would only be a primer to all that is there. Buffalo hunting display at the Cowboy Hall of Fame and Museum. Btw...if you're a John Wayne fan...John Wayne was one of the original board of directors at the Cowboy Museum. When they had their grand opening, he was the Grand Marshall of the Parade they had on the street going by the museum. He is well liked in Oklahoma. Here are our kids beside Nokia India, a sculpture outside the Gilcrease Museum.

A Marvel .22 conversion topped 1911, with a suppressor is one that falls on the cool side: Then there is what I consider one of the most classic cool guns of all time, a blued 4" Model 29 .44 mag, with Ropers:
THE CHAIR IS AGAINST THE WALL. The Tikka T3 in .308 Winchester is the Glock 19 of the rifle world. The website is up and running!www.lostriverammocompany.com
