I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

A O Bush,
R17 will work well with heavier bullets of 286+ grains. Use data for any of the 4350's. R17 is pretty slow-burning for 250's, but a case-full will probably reach "traditional" velocities.

H-4895 with 232 & 250's
RL15 & Varget with 270 & 286's.
These have worked well in my CZ 550 LUX.

What's your barrel length? My 20.5 gets a smidge over 2400 with 286 grainers and 66 grains of Big Game.

22.44" or 570 mm. I think Big Game, Viht N550 and Rl-17 are very close in burn rate. I have a quantity of Viht N 550 , the other two are in short supply in area.

I haven't tried R-17, I'm pretty stuck on BigGame for my CZ. Yes. it's repeatable.

After trying the 4350's, H414 and Re-15 I settled on VV-N550 when I finalized my load in 2000 for a trip to Africa. I have not used anything else since. Curious to hear what charge weight you are using with 550. It is pleasing to see that what I settled on way back then is delivering what "the best" today appear to be.
