I normally post on Accurate Reloading so I have few post here.

I'm offering stock duplication for $100 plus shipping on my pattern. A touch more using yours. While not a huge group of patterns the list is growing.

Here is an example of a Montana PH stock.

How close can you get the inletting for a large ring Mauser?

Hmmm Now you are going to make me check the next one. It will not be a drop in fit. My unit swings the cutter through and arc. So straight up and down lines will not be perfect. Also square corners will have a rounded edge. I have a couple to cut this week. I'll measure and/or take a couple pictures. It is closer than the 95% on many semi.

Thank you. Do you also have some decent blanks for sale? Do you like to Horse trade i.e. trade a rifle or good handgun for your work etc?

Just a touch over 44" of cutter travel. A touch more between centers.

**M70 Featherweight style for a 98**

This is probably obvious, but does this mean you can inlet a M70 FWT style stock to accommodate a large ring Mauser action?

Then I'd open the barrel channel to fit?

I need to get my black walnut blank from Idaho to you I need the featherweight pattern for a 98 Mauser. Also what floor plate you cut them to for the 98 I'm using mark x bottom metal on the vz 24.

I basically cut all 98s with a MKX type bottom. That way if the customer wants to use a 98 bottom all he has to do is cut the area in front of the front action screw. No cuts for side safeties either.

The M70 featherweight for a 98 is simply a Featherweight pattern that has a couple minor changes around the rear tang and bolt release and is inletted to fit a 98/MKX etc. Unless I'm cutting a copy of a customer stock the channel is normally cut with a starter groove so it will need to be opened to fit the barrel.

I didn't see any Savage 99 Stocks on your list is that right? I am guessing you do not have any patterns for them?

When you mention pattern, is that if I sent you a stock to duplicate?

Do you sell the blanks also?

Can you duplicate a Savage 1899 butt stock if I provide a pattern + wood? Cost?

Sorry I live in the country and someone cut the cable to our area and it has been up and down all weekend.

I hope I get everything answered before I lose it again.

I don't have a Hawkeye pattern. A check piece could be added to an old factory stock. Bondo is fine for a couple copies.

I have lost access to a lathe "he moved" so I can't cut any through bolt at this time. I build a jig but it needs work before I put someone's wood at risk.

RWE are you asking if I can cut a left handed stock from a left handed pattern the answer would be yes. My machine CAN'T make a mirror image.

emmerth yep a pattern is something for me to copy. Many people like their old stock just want different wood. Or want to change the shape like add or remove the cheek piece. Care can be taken to minimize any damage to the parent. I have a few blanks but can get others or give you contacts that ship straight to me. simple quarter sawn black walnut is around $50 that example in the first post is a $174 of French Walnut.

Do you do any 2 piece stocks? If I supplied the parent stock and the blank?

OSU Sorry I forgot to hit submit.

I can't at this time do a through bolt until I improve my jig. I won't put someone's wood at risk. It would also depend on the inletting for the action how close I could get.

Cost is normally about the same as a 1 piece ($100). Might be a touch of labor to add blocks for mounting between centers.
