Can we see more of that stock in the first pics? 174 bucks... If the rest of the stock looks well, you just may be doing a stock for me.

spattermatic, I may be wrong but I think he was saying that the wood blank that he used is $174 plus the cost of duplicating. Still very reasonable.

I will be interested in a project like this when you get ready.

would a long action m70 fwt help? I have a a post 64 long action fwt stock in my basement just getting dusty. I bought a Fajen replacement stock here and really like everything except my new Fajen doesn't have a schnabel tip like the factory. Is it possible to have your duplicator put the factory schnabel on my aftermarket stock?

With the pattern. To clarify that blank is a $176. Add $100 for shaping. The pattern happens to be a Montana PH action. Trying to mount an existing shaped stock in perfect alignment with a pattern to allow shaping the tip would be a nightmare. Would be easier to cut it with a rasp. With all the interest with the Savage I can see I need to improve my jig so I can drill the through bolt.
Just my 2 cents.

Searched long and far for a reasonable service such as you are offering. I have a Tikka 595/Whitetail in long action that no one makes stocks for especially my left hand version. It has a very slight modification on the last 2-3 inches of the forend/tip area as it warped slightly and I had to rasp and sand it about 1/8" to keep it free floated, not sure if that would create any issues in exact duplication or would it matter... wouldn't matter to me. One side of the forend sits slightly lower on the barrel than the other side due to my free float "fix", not a huge issue and certainly not a deal breaker for me if it duplicated that way. Boy it sure would be nice to have some better wood on it. When I get back from Afghanistan late April I'll try and remember to contact you and see if I can't work this up to a higher priority on my honey-do list.

Splattermatic That blank came from http://www.calicohardwoods.com/index.php It is a AA French. I had a customer send me a blank he wanted to build his Montana PH .500+ caliber wildcat on and the grain on his pattern just wouldn't work for a heavy recoil. I had him contact calico and they simply dropped shipped it to me. I would "assume" they would have others pretty much like it. Simply send them the picture and ask for one as close as they can get. Bradley If you are going to copy the stock it should be fixed the way you want it BEFORE it is copied. Use some epoxy or even bondo to get the tip area the way you want it. Play safe until you get home.

sTriper- You talking about one of their PSP type stocks? Wood or Laminate? How careful would I need to be when I set it up between centers. What I trying to ask can I attach blocks to each end to allow me to mount it? Or do you need to use it afterwards?
Just my 2 cents.
