I agree completely bgbuck. Although I was very impressed on how the 200 gr. Accubond performed this past spring on a Plains Game hunt in SA. I was shooting them out of my RUM with hand loads traveling about 3100 fps. I shot a Kudu in the center of the shoulder blade at 60 yards. We recovered the bullet on the far side under the hide. Bullet weighed in at 156 gr and mushroomed to about .60, if my memory serves me correctly. I also shot a Black Wildebeest at 260 yards that had a complete pass through both front shoulder blades. Although there did not seem to be much expansion with that example. Kevin

I would run the 160 AB for the best all around.
Don't look past the proven 175 partition. If you can get it there; IT WILL perform with authority!

Carry both. Then some partitions, corloks, TTSX, and AMax. Tape drops for each to your stock and mark ele/wind turrets accordingly for each round. Just keep track of which bullet is in which pocket. This is where DBM's shine.

If you are willing to take whatever shot is presented, take the Nosler! +1 I will second this info.

Over the last 6 years I have killed 19 ruminants using: Nosler Ballistic tips Hornady SST Berger VLD hunting Barnes Triple Shock
But I have shot a lot more than 19 rounds at deer, antelope, and elk to kill only 19 animals.
I don't need any more anecdotal bad experiences with wounded animals. I like the bang flop.
I almost always seem to shoot animals broadside lung shot at dawn between 400 and 500 yards.
From now on, the only bullet I will be using is the Nosler Ballistic tips.

I would use whichever bullet is the most accurate and take a lot of time to contemplate shot placement. The ability to make a well placed and accurate shot will determine far more than which bullet you chose.

Im a pretty big fan of what hornady has to offerthey may be hard to get now but if you slicked up a few hundred or a thousand i'd say you'd be pretty setbig game and small game neither are going to like a 105 amax/hpbt in the "kill zone".
