Warm temps brought them up. Killed two tonight at a new farm. Lady at mom's circle meeting was complaining about some big rats in her pasture and mom hinted that I could make them disappear. Bless her little heart.
Looks very promising for another visit or six. Kudzu and hills everywhere. Gonna need the 22.250 for this layout.

Bad ass. Don't they have digital cameras in the south?
Gophers are up in town. If this weather holds the boy and I will do a seek and destroy this weekend.

Haven't seen gopher 1 yet, but we have skunks out the wazoo.
Been clearing brush in order to see them at range - for some reason, the wife won't let me shoot them in the yard.
Crow - I got a mated pair of black wing rodents in a pine tree near the house.
Waiting for them to bring the youth down to feed. shouldn't be long now.
222 rem time.

'flave - no way I was gonna wade through 250 yards of red clay for a picture. Besides the Deuce was not kind to them. When it dries out I will post them up.
RWE if you can steal one of the young ones they actually make pretty good pets. Friend had for about 3 years. His loved cat food.

So, I can kill the parents, orphan the kids, chain saw the tree, and enslave the survivors. Good thread.

Then after it dies, you can wear it on your head like Tonto in the Lone Ranger movie.

This fat bastid has been giving me the snake eye about three times a week for the last three years. Thinks he is safe because he lives in the shadow of the local PD. But I got a plan. Gonna CCI CB Short and Winchester 67 his fat a$s during lunch hour. He is Boone and Crockett class.

My chuck' shoot'n spot still under a good amount of snow....
Have not seen any ground squirrels yet, but gotta be getting close....
A few skunk have apparently not been all the way awake when trying to cross the highway, Probably forced out of there culverts from all of the melting snow. I try to run them over too if that is the only option, much prefer to shoot them though. Yes even in culverts given the chance.

You guys are making me jealous. There's still a foot and a half of snow in my yard - maybe a little less in the fields. If we don't get some warm weather soon it might be another month before any whistle pigs make an appearance around here.

Vehicles wash, the one with the most dead wins. I get exited over special ops requirements such as tires, traps, heavy equipment, snares, claymores, silenced firearms, heat detecting equip and so forth....

Uh, didn't realize skunks hibernate. Except in the coldest of weather, we see them year round. When a blue norther blows through, most everything small finds a hole, the rest finds a wind break.

Starting to see Chucks regular now here in PA. Hope to be able to shoot soon. Had shoulder surgery a couple weeks ago and still can't hold up a rifle. I figure at least a couple more weeks before I start.

I'm ready... I shot my first of the yr today. I threw some .243 loads together outta some olde schit i have gathered up. No boattail, no ballistic tip, unknown primers in unshiny brass. 275 yd shot ended with the quivering tail salute. Hoping this summer brings many more of those.

No chucks here in the mitten yet. Haven't even see a road kill skunk yet. Hope the bastids died in all that sub zero crap we had.

Chuck hunting is great stuff... While we were visiting relatives this March, I ask an old chuck hunter how the shooting had been.. Terrible was his reply.. I figured coyotes.. But it seems some of the very large farmers had set traps at the dens, and killed every chuck for miles around before they had a chance to have little ones .. Sad.
