I am looking for a replacement stock for my 1899 takedown made in 1911. I would prefer new and finished but I could make do with used or not finished. I have looked at Boyds but the dimensions do not look right. Anybody got a lead? Thanks.
What's the original stock like? Good enough to be duplicated?

Sorry, should have said stock and forend. I think the stock is pretty easy but the takedown forend is tricky. I think it changed over the years and the early models like mine are a little different.

how bad is your stock set now PICs if you can , ser no of the gun fore ends on TD did not change much if any on a given model. what did change is the diameter of the channel depending on the caliber.

The stock is in decent shape. The bottom of the butt stock is cracked off and the forend is getting fragile. Especially the thin parts near the tip. I would like a new(er) stock to put on it for hunting and then preserve the old wood to save the value of the rifle. Some dimensions. All measured from the back/chamber to the front/muzzle end. About 4 5/8" from the metal to the screw in the release latch. About 5 5/16 from the back-most wood to the screw. About 10 1/8 to 1/4 in total length.

Here are some measurements. Sorry it is so dark, I tried to lighten it up. Also sorry for the 16ths, I was trying to be precise. Measurements are to the center of the screw.
As for the butt stock, I need to know how to measure the drawbolt length? Stocks being sold have a 5 1/2" or 8" drawbolt length. What is that?
You know, yesterday I ran into a takedown rifle in a LGS that I thought would make a good parts gun. Had good wood about that color, darker for sure. $300 asking. It was a square bolt rifle that had been rebored to 300 Savage, so I'd consider it a parts gun myself. Might be a fun project to disassemble and part out.

Try Cottage Craftworks. They are reasonably priced and will need to be fit and finished but should have what you need. They show how to measure for what you need. Never tried them myself but again they seem to be reasonably priced. Tom
Every website that offers a replacement forend shows this exact same picture. Anyone know why that is?
My stock is 4 1/2 inches as measured from the start of the metal band to the start of the takedown latch. This would make mine a series III but they have that listed as a late model. I would expect mine (1911) to be an early model. Confusing.
Macon Gunstocks, Cottage Cratworks, and I saw it on one other that I don't remember now. The image on Macon has the same hand drawn stars on the butt stock illustration.
I think that this is the illustration that Savage uses maybe? Maybe it came from Savage?
Drawbolt is the screw that goes through the back of the stock and "Draws" it towards the receiver. In other words, stock bolt. Your model should be an odd (By todays standards) thread for the diameter of the bolt. Been a while, but I seem to remember 14 TPI. Most I have taken out were in terrible shape. I guess from the acid in the wood. You almost need the barrel to fit the fore end. Even if you know the model, the latch on the barrels were not a dead nut placement on the early models.(Or the later models)
