somebody's probably made this observation, but if you look at 9-11, those flights were chosen for full effect, coast-to-coast flights loaded with fuel to maximize the desired effects.

It looks like whoever was behind this chose the best situation to steal an airliner without leaving a trail. The question is, where will it re-appear, and what kind of payload will it be carrying.

That IS a pretty scary scenario.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to change out the transponder... just to confuse things until about a minute inside our coastline to the allotted target.

I agree with 1, 2 and especially 3. I sailed across that big sum bisch six times.

Part of the problem is headlines like this that's up on Foxnews right now:

Well, of course they're looking at the flight engineer...and the flight attendants, and everyone on the ground crew, and even the hot barmaid in the airport lounge. Every time someone mentions that they're looking somewhere, the news media jumps all over with meaningless stuff like that.

Why steal an airliner and bring half the world looking for it. Why not go to some third world $hit hole and just buy some half worn out 737 or equivalent?

Why buy something for millions when you can just steal one.

And what are you going to do with it when the whole world is looking for it? Part it out?

They're gonna try to fly it to Israel and crash it into something. They didn't steal it to sell it.

Here's a bizarre thought. FYI, this isn't the first time that I've had bizarre thoughts.

What if the pilot with 18,000 hours wanted to do a Chesley Burnett "Sully" Sullenberger on the way out and successfully perform a water landing?

He had a flight simulator to practice with.

Somebody, most likely a country, orchestrated this. They did a pretty decent job too.

That somebody knows where the plane is, and whether the mission was successful or a failure.

It mostly likely relates to cargo that was on board.

Unreal. On Fox. Two airline experts. The black ex airline pilot says if the plane crashes on land or in 5 feet of salt water the ETS (?) comes on to help locate it. He waxes long and strong the plane has not crashed. The white dude waits and then explains that the ETS (LTS?) comes on only if the plane crashes on land. He explains the doohickey that comes on in 5 ft of salt water is a becon that pings.

Black expert pilot then says, uh, that's right. Chitt is hard to turn off or maybe can't be turned off, etc, etc.

PS. Israel is on alert for unplanned approaches of large aeroplanes.
