Okay, sounds like we're set. I certainly have plenty of meat in the freezer, that could be ground and seasoned, if we need it, let me know.

If anyone is so inclined I have some decent red wine from my California days, and I'd be happy to bring some for the dinners.

Ed, Maddy and I should be in a small motorhome (chassis mount camper) - maybe 28 ft. overall - if the old gal (the truck!!) makes it across NM and TX. Is there a space for this?

Absolutely! There are two places to park it where you can plug into shore power and a whole lot of other places if you don't need it.
We're just trying to figure out where to park folks and where folks will want to set up tents.

If you ruffians stay out of the kitchen and remain outside where you belong, Mrs. Ed will probably be okay with you all coming back. grin

Take lots of pictures.

Barbara is just as excited about this as I am. After hosting large Christmas parties for cops for many years, she is pretty used to ruffians. grin

As to the pictures, #1 son is a professional photographer and is going to be here, so I expect there will be some good shots.

If ruffians enter the kitchen to clean instead of ravaging it, maybe the hostess will be happy smile

Ed,
I am pasting the messages about Stalingrad and my response here:

That would be cool! Wonder where we could get some of those silhouettes?

Ed

On further research it was scaled down to look at 50m (55yds) like at 400m... which is about 445y. The "scope" one wasn't so tiny, but it was a rounded one.
I have send my requests to see if someone can get me the details, as I recall they were welded with a hinge, so they would fly all over the place and it was easy to set them up again.

Quick Web-Fu revealed ebay has different offerings.

Any of these and we can pick distances to simulate whatever we want and can be a quick solution. (Going hinged to a base and lever/string to set them up form afar would be the bees knees, though)

Miles, just count on 40. That's a lot of bacon at todays cost. Houston Pat's going to bring a little sausage, you bring what bacon you want to buy. As SE Pat said we'll make it happen with what we have.

The rifle is a fairly interesting conversation piece. Haven't shot it yet, though.

Don't think I need a left-handed anything, but that looks like an interesting rifle. What cartridge?

It's marked 7x57 - but I was told it was a 7x57 AI.

I also just discovered this on the barrel, halfway down:
