Good to know! There's a shop up between Sheridan and Kokomo that has been doing them. Their main product is to buy Rem 798 (the mauser thing), rebarrel, then ceracote the stock and metal. The one I handled seemed nice enough.

No new guns for me this year, trying to slow down my gun buying ADD. Made a vow to focus on getting the rifles I have set up like I want (stocks, scopes, turrets, bedding, etc). Also going to finally start loading for them. Picking up all components that I can find and afford. Will work up loads then actually spend my time shooting vs saving money for another pistol I don't need.
I have a 1948 Model 70 action and a 25 cal McGowan at the 'smith's, and a mid fifties Fwt stock with aluminium butt plate here....
These parts are going to make a nice 257 Roberts.

I'm having the chamber end of one of my 308's lopped off and rechambered/refitted using a tighter than SAAMI dimension match reamer. It won't require neck turning, but it will still be a lot closer to cartridge/bullet dimensions in the chamber neck and throat. Even a SAAMI minimum reamer is pretty loose for the 308.
Dean Zollinger is finishing the stock on my 220 Russian(Beggs) minimauser. I will need my 40X rimfire custom stocked, and lastly I need to do my titanium Pierce receiver. It will be a 280AI.

Have you considered a Palma chamber? Short throat will allow you to reach the lands with just about anything.

The reamer is a .340" diameter neck, .3085" diameter throat, set up for the 168 SMK which makes it perfect for my favorite plinking bullet, the 168 CC Nosler. If I want to reach the lands with a VLD I'll just hang them out a little.
