My good friend and I have been shooting 2200 powder in a 204, a 20 TAC, and 5 223's. All 5 of the 223's will shoot consistently under 1/2" with either 26 or 27 grains of powder and 40 gr. Vmax. It shoots under a 1/2" in the 204 and the 20 TAC with 32 grain slugs.
My friend has been shooting 20 and 25 grain bullets using 2200 in his 17 Fireball. Accuracy is excellent.
We have collectively shot over 16 lbs of this powder. Anyone else use it?

Based on Western Powder's loading data, your .223 loads are a little warm. I have loaded the 40 gr bullets with the listed max load of 25.4 gr of 2200 and had decent performance, but have had better luck with Accurate 2015 and Ramshot TAC.

I've shot 128lbs + of it and that lot was slower than '335.
'2015 and TAC suck ass.

I shot a little in an AR, but it was too fast for proper function. Lot of short strokes.

Have shot more than a smidge through AR's,in both '15 and '10 platforms. In 223 it do rather nice thangs with everything 40-75grs in a Gasser. Mebbe even shot a smidge in 223AI boltguns, with boolits of similar weight. It also do nice thangs outta MBR's and say 155 Skinners.
Loaded another 500rds of '2200 fueled Hornie 75BTHP's in R/P hulls last night and they scoot along nicely at 2800fps outta my BBMFER.
Enjoyed the short stroke notion, that was funny!

You are so correct about the load not going along with published data. We are using bolt guns and have worked up those loads in 2/10 increments to 28 grains. We concluded we have a slow batch of powder as that is way over what the published loads are. Our shooting is in warm weather so temperature does not seem to have any negative effect.
We have loaded some of the LC cases at least 10 times with only trimming for length and an occasional split neck. So I am very comfortable with the loads.
Thanks for the input everyone.

I still have a bunch of the original Data 2200 cheap stuff that came out about 14 years ago. Mines pretty fast burning, definitely faster than 335. I had problems with it in my mid length AR's but it would cycle the carbine length ok. I had some 2230C that was maybe slower than 335 and it ran everything fine.
I've been using the old data 2200 in my 300 blackout. 14g under a 208 Amax shoots really well at about 1080 fps.

I use it in a 270 Titus shooting 115 Nosler Custom Competition bullets. Wish I could find data for more cartridges, but haven't really searched too hard.

I know fella that has been using it in his 17 hornady hornet seems to think it is the best powder for the cartrigde.

My batch of 2200 is the recently made stuff, not the original "surplus" powder. It's the best powder I've found for 25-grain bullets in the .17 Hornady Hornet, but a little too slow for 20's--where Accurate 1680 works perfectly.

In the 17AH and .221FB, 2200 is very nicely accurate. Haven't tried it in the .223 case because 2015 and a couple VV powders work so well.

I've only shot about 20 pounds of it. Great performance in my 223's and 6X45's. It does wonders under a 40 VMAX on PD's.
