Who makes a decent scope that has caps for the turrets?

I'd like to set something up with a 250 yard zero. I'd only be spinning turrets if way out there and would have the time to take the caps off.

I actually have a 4.5-14 buckmaster. Are the adjustments decent? I automatically assumed it wouldn't be repeatable given the price point, but I'm open to hearing about others' experiences.

I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of $500-$600 max for this little project.

I really like the pop up to turn and push down to lock turrets on the Nitrex TR2 / Weaver Superslams.

They have an excellent "pop up and turn, then push down to lock" turret like the scopes WYcoyote mentioned.

Regarding that Buckmaster:

I had one for a year. It was repeatable and held zero on a light 7 mag., but I only had it for a year and only hunted if a few days so can't comment on long term durability. However, it's adjustments were off.

IIRC for every 6 MOA I had to add about a minute. Same rifle and load with a Leupold I'd use 22 minutes to shoot a thousand yards. With the Buckmaster I'd be at 26 minutes. Not a big deal because I just look at the tape on the gun anyway.

I ended up putting a Leupold Mark AR 4-12 on that rifle. That scope has been tracking great for me and it is 4 oz. lighter, which is why I switched. I did send in to Leupold for a plain turret instead of the one with the 223 marks.

You may want to try your Buckmaster out before buying another scope, unless you just want one!

I have three Buckmasters. No problem with repeatability. They are my favorite scope in their price line. My two Vortex have caps also.

I think, therefore I am, conservative.
