If you could buy either one of these for the same price, which would you choose? Same bbl length I believe.

If you could buy either one of these for the same price, which would you choose? Same bbl length I believe. There's 3 different "crimson carry" pistols 5,4,3 inch barrels. Which were you thinking of? Personally, I think 3" 1911's suck and I sure wouldn't spend that much money for one to carry. 4" is near perfect IMO.

I would go with a COLT lightweight commander.

A guy has both for sale for a good price. The colt is NIB and the Kimber shot a little, looks new. Both have 3" bbl I think.
Said I could have them both for $1500, but I'm broke. Supposed to be his FIL's and I've seen pic's so I don't think it's BS. I'm gun poor at the moment and I don't think my wife will front me the money:) Neither would be my choice for carrying. I was just curious what you guy's thought of the little 1911's

+1. The shorter you go, the more the geometry changes, and JMB got it right in the first place.

I don't have any experience with the colt but I carry a 5"Kimber crimson and I'm very happy with it. Mines a crimson carry custom II.
