UBERCOOL story. All but two of the animals we have had over the years have been rescues or throw away's from people who couldn't keep them. Mostly dogs & cats but a couple of horses as well!

At one time, not so log ago, we were up to SIX cats. To be at 'only' three now is a bit of a respite for me. But, knowing my wifey here, there will be some other sort of needy animal finding its way into our home and life pretty soon. Last week she was trying to catch a red tree squirrel with a broken leg!

We do too....I am more of a cat person and my husband more of a dog person but we love all of them and this little premature dachshund that we got [breeder couldn't sell it because it wasn't perfect] is a doll. You're a kind person and a good guy in my book!

The world needs more "rescue" people like you and your wife. I had 10 cats several years ago. They just kept "finding" me. We inherited a dwarf hamster with our home. The former owners were moving to Montana and couldn't take it so "lit'l Bit" was added to our family.
