Garcia Ambassadeur C 3

Or

Shimano Cardiff

Main use will be trolling for Trout, and some casting for Bass and Pike.

Any other reels I should be looking at in that price range ?

For trolling, I'd consider a line counter reel. For casting, I won't use anything other than a low profile. My next reel will be a Revo NaCl. I fish out of a canoe and a kayak so my reels take a beating.

I like Shimanos but you probably can't go wrong with either one. For a pure trout trolling reel I've been using one of the small Daiwa line counter models for the past six or seven years. IMO it makes that kind of fishing a lot easier.

I'm a little stubborn and old school, but all my baitcasters say Ambassadeur on the side. They're just about bulletproof and last an awful long time.

S'cuze me, but that's not stubborn ... that's smart. I have one 5500c and two 6500c reels. They've handled everything from 8 1/2 lb bucketmouths to 50+ lb King Salmon and everything in between. Love 'em.
