I LIKEY! Especially the caliber. Love me some megafast .224's.

Should be a rockchuck and coyotes worst nightmare, EVER.

Nice rifle. Love them Greybull stocks. What does your wildcat caliber offer that a 22/250 doesn't?

The 22/243 uses a larger parent case. That means the bullet can be launched at a higher velocity.

So just to be clear... More case capacity equals more speed?

You got some 75 gr AMs?

What glass?

Are you going to kill anything besides paper & steel with it?

Cool cartridge & build! I look forward to seeing a range report.

Thanks for the kind words all. I am running 80 grain Berger VLD's in it right now with Retumbo, they are running 3500 fps and I am not pushing it at all. I have a Zeiss 4.5x14x40 on it right now and a Zeiss 6x20x50 on the way! Hopefully a couple of coyotes will get in the way of a Berger this weekend and then maybe a nice Big ole Mulie this fall.
I wish I had some 75 A-Maxes????????? Anyone have a couple thousand they want to get rid of??????

Just to be clear . . . you've been hanging out at the 'Fire for 7 years, have 10k+ posts and really don't know the answer to that one? I mean, April Fools was over a week ago . . .

Yep the plan is to try some R=22 or R=17 and see if 3750 or 3800 is possible without pressure. If the accuracy is as good as the Bergers I will move up if not I am happy with 80's at 3500

I'd find a load quickly so you don't burn out the tube during load development, haha.

Your probably right but it is worth a look, maybe try some H-1000? If not no big deal my next one will get there.......Plan is to build a slow twist 6-284 and run 55 grain Noslers really fast. Man this crap is addicting crazy

Man, 55s at what 4.5k? Bore life should be 500-800 rounds?

I could enjoy the performance of running fast high bc 22 slugs with low recoil.

Not run #'s, but how would it compare to say 105s in a 243 fast twist?

I would reckon deer n hog would easily be on the menu assuming shot placement.

I was over 4200fps out of my 22-250AI and 40gr Sierras. Barrel was smoking hot in a few rounds though.
