I knew you could pay your way on the early days, but on thursday/friday, I was always under the impression you needed an invite or a coorperate ticket. Cool that you get to go. I'm not a golfer but I do like to watch the masters.

I bought clubs in an attempt to become a golfer a year ago. Went out about 5 times. The progression of my skill set went like this:

1) I sucked
2) I did ok
3) I sucked
4) I sucked
5) I sucked

Mon thru Weds its ground passes.. Thurs thru Sunday its badges..You have to turn them in at the end of the day.. You can still buy badges expensive ive heard a Sunday badge can go for 1k.. We bought our Mon and Tues passes thru stub hub. I was freaken out that they might be fake.. People in front of us had fake tickets. They got kicked out.. They scan your ticket 3 differ times in line... The merchandise tent unreal people were throwing thousands of dollars on stuff... I would love to see there profit on merchandise at the end of the tourney..

Cool thing sandwiches were 1.50, candy bar .75. Water i think was a 1.00. Beer was like 2bucks..No porta potties..Regular bathrooms..
There is not one branch or leaf or pine needle out of place on the whole property.. The grass where spectators walk was cut the same as the fairway.. People were walking around barefoot..
Even saw grown men crying... LOL...

When I was a kid, my mom and I took a golf lesson as we were both interested but never played. The golf "pro" literally told us we should check other sports we were interested in. grin I'm not kidding!

Truth.

Crying is a bit extreme, but I believe it. Heard that a Masters devotee passed away. He was cremated. One of his buddies got a ticket, went with his buddy stuffed into both front pockets of his pants. When he got on the course he spread the ashes through holes in his pockets. Nuts if you ask me.

The amount of $$$ being thrown around here is staggering. Rich boys and their toys.

Ahh golf. I am actually a pretty darn good driver. But after that, it ends in a big way. I am beyond horrible with irons. My favorite thing to do is hit line drive after line drive after line drive over the green. And if by some stroke of luck I eventually get on the green, I cheer wildly if I make it in the hole in less than half a dozen putts.

I have heard, but never witnessed, that some people even watch golf on TV!

My dad was an avid golfer and I played some when I was young but could never get into the game. He loved going to the Master's Tournament every year. Being a newspaperman he had press passes to get in.
The course itself is a beautiful place I hear.
On another subject I see that this post has passes 80 MILLION, that's MILLION views. WOW!!! The place has a life of it's own.
I am proud to be here.

The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

well in all fairness I do check it a couple times a day... smile

thats pretty amazing! I wonder how many aren't even registered users who read from work to get their "deer camp" fix all year long? pretty cool nonetheless. Dave, you're a celebrity!
