Ya know reading Gopher's news and particularly his statement got me to thinking. Compare his attitude that he is excited to go back to work vs all the people that are too lazy to work. Attaboy Goph! Great news on the health and great attitude!

just wanted to tell you guys about my neighbor.
he asked me a few weeks ago,if I knew anybody that wanted his truck,an 02 gmc sierra extended cab, 212k.( he just bought a newer escalade)
well, today,we went to the dmv,and he signed over the title to me,just had to pay the transfer fee, new plates, and tax.($86)
now my son has a truck for when he gets his DL in a few months.
leather ,heated seats, auto, cruise, air, trailer brakes, bose speakers.
It has newer tires ,alternator, fuel pump, heater fan motor, and a new battery ,HE put in today.

needs a few things, but not over a few hundred.( tail gate lever( $18),window tracks and motor($65 ea)washer fluid reservoir($20),new shocks probably.

guys 28, an Iraq veteran, national guard member, new father( 6 weeks old daughter).wouldn't even take a case of his favorite beer,(bud lite),a twelve pack was enough.( I snuck another 12 in his garage fridge when he wasn't looking). as if that wasn't enough he completely rebuilt the engine awhile back, and put a 3/4 ton tranny in it.runs and drives perfect.
what a great neighbor to have.

That's really cool Fluffy. Every kid ought to start with a good ol' beater, and the fact that it's a truck definitely elevates the cool factor.

What a neighbor.

Picked up the new Edge on Friday. Really like it. Ford made a number of refinements over the 09 version. Much smoother ride. quieter.

Dash is like a video game. I've got the major features down, but there's a secondary info screen that I need to work on.

Cool! The interiors on the new vehicles I've driven are really like a video game. The Ram 1500's I liked a lot. Even the radio was touch screen. I thought my 2011 f-150 was hi-tech. It is nothing to the new stuff.

Radio, climate controls and phone all managed through the touch screen. Mine doesn't have GPS but it functions through the same screen. There are some manual controls also for the radio and climate control. You can also use voice commands to activate and change functions as well. I haven't played with that yet. I love the backup camera and the Blind Spot/Cross Traffic warning system.

I'm going to sound like a Ford commercial, but if you're looking for a crossover vehicle that's great in snow it's will be tough to beat a AWD Edge.

Oakdale Gun club opens to the public the first full weekend in June which this year is June 7/8. Public shooting hours are from 8 am until 4 pm at that time.

I will be looking into the Edge when it's time to update wifey's vehicle. I tried and tried to convince her to get an AWD at the time we got her '09 Impala but she wanted nothing to do with it. A few times of being stuck has changed her mind though.

AWD is not only good in snow it's good in rain also. Reduces risk of hydroplaning.

Going to need the AWD this morning. We have 3.5" of wet heavy snow and it's still snowing.

Jeeze. You can have it. We're supposed to get some as well later this week. Just in time for my turkey season. crazy

Never fails. When I have the first season, I've had everything but nice weather. Blizzards, out-right monsoons, winds, sleet... everything but sun. Now from the 3rd week on, I've been pretty lucky. The year I moved back to MN 2010, there was some crap weather but it was short.
