We rent one for fishing in the bush. Works just so-so. But it's better than nothing.
Have to stand real still and it's touchy about where you can get reception.

I have the contact info for a guy who's in Scottsdale and who ships anywhere in the United States, Canada and Mexico. My clients swear by this guy. He's affordable, personable and the service is exemplary. He only deals with Iridium satellite phones. His rental rates are the best that I've ever heard of and again, my clients swear by this guy. For a trip to Africa? If RSA there is cell coverage most places. Other countries so-so coverage.
Beware of thieves, scammers and dishonest members on the "Fire" classifieds. Ya there is a thief here too. Whatever!!
They're all around the CampFire and everywhere.
