Thought I'd ask here due to largest audience..
Customer called - they have an old Marlin model 1893 w/octagon barrel and chambered in .38-55..
That rifle doesn't even show up in the blue book. And I've not heard of a .38-55. She says it's in quite good condition and wondered what it's worth. Thought I'd ask here - because I have NO idea..
Lemme have what ya got..

(DOH).. Good point - must have needed more coffee this am to remember to check Gunbroker.. Wow. Prices are higher than I thought. One bid of $2400 and hasn't reached the reserve yet..

.38-55s in classic lever actions are pure gold, right now. I have been trying to find one in decent condition (that I can afford) for about twenty years. Saw a pretty poor octagon-barreled 1894 at Cabelas over in Texas last weekend for $1,800 plus!
