It's never to early or to late for something great.

Jazz guitar royalty - fabulous slick improv by a master. I never tire of listening to JP - constantly comes up with fresh takes. There are a bunch of his CDs around here - even a Christmas deal called "Six String Santa - every one a jewel. His duo album with herb Ellis is top shelf.

That bass player also is excellent - a couple of those fours sections were inspired. I didn't take a verse/chorus count there, but can you imagine these ostensibly favorite "the best" rock, or R&B or country stars we hear about on here being able to keep coming up such a long string of creative inventions without repeating their pat licks? Intellectual artistry with Pass.

Thanks for this.

Oscar Peterson, Nils Petterson, and Joe Pass did 2-3 trio albums in the 70's, the best of which was "The Trio", released I believe in 1975... I played 2 copies of that record to death. Now I have it on CD and it's still one of my favorites. JP played a lot of solo work on that album, all live. Great sounds.

Thanks Oldtrapper, JP was a true master and artist. I am just starting to select music for an upcoming roadtrip and you just inspired me.

Thanks, again, oldtrapper. Fine stuff. When first I heard, and then met, JP he was having some difficult habit issues. Later, with the help of a group founded by Stan Kenton and others in the LA area, JP got a grip, got better, and went on with simply great inventive playing. Good fellow, fabulous and masterful player.
