I tried to upload a picture from my phone but it didn't work. This morning I picked up a remington nylon 66 .22. And yes I stole it for $50 bucks!

It's because the owner couldn't find any ammo.

... And take look at your post count on that post!! 66 may be yer lucky number today! Wasn't there at one time a movement among the real members to not allow anyone to post until they had a post count of at least 1,000 or something? (Yes, I know that - that was the point.)

The husband probably smarted off at his wife this morning. Payback can be tough.

Several years ago I satisfied an almost fifty year desire and got a Nylon 66. I probably would have liked it better when I was a kid and had good eyes and no sense of what a trigger should be like, but it's still fun.
I can't remember the name of the place, but down around Gloversville NY there's a sporting goods shop and they have a small room off to the side of the gun dept. with the walls covered with (what I assume is) the owners collection of nylon Remingtons. My guess is there's one of every model in every color.

I remember as a kid the Nylon 66 being advertised in Fur, Fish and Game magazine as a boy's best friend on the trapline. I always wanted one of those.

A lot of guys love the 66 but my experience was terrible. The barrel is held in place by a shim. There's was no way that the shim would stay tight and the barrel kept moving. Since the rear sight was on the receiver, not the barrel, every time it moved, my POI moved 3 or 4" at 50 yds.

Since the rear sight was on the receiver, not the barrel, every time it moved, my POI moved 3 or 4" at 50 yds. I tried to scope one so I could knock jackrabbits off at longer range. Early 80's, I was about 14, could not hit squat with that stupid gun. I shot my Win 1906 better at 50 with open sights than I could that scoped Nylon 66 at 50. Later, after the internet came out, I read that scope mounting isn't recommended due to the receiver cover shifting, or something along those lines. Do you know how hard it was to find 1", 3/8 groove scope rings back then? The whole thing was a big disappointment.
