Alright guys I'm thinking about finally scratching the fast twist ackley itch. I currently have one but it is a slow twist that doesn't like anything over 55 grain bullets. What bullet are you guys launching now that the 75 grain amax isn't in production anymore? What loads are you shooting?

H8495 or Varget work pretty well too. About anything around that burn rate is worth a try for the 69-80 grain bullets.
If I wasn't stocked up on Amaxs, I'd be looking at Sierras, Noslers, Bergers, or whatever was available. It's all good.

I am using 69gr Matchkings, and I am liking them a lot. Cheap and accurate too.

I just started using the 69gr. Sierra in a 1-9" 5.56.
No A-Max but it shoots well.

Ssssh. Don't mention Green Berets. Take_a_knee might have to pause his Call of Duty game and come tell us what a real bad ass looks like.
Well, maybe not looks like, as cameras weren't invented when he went through bad ass training back in the '80s, so no photographic evidence exists of his badassery.
Anyway....back on track, I just launched a couple subsonic 75 grain Amaxes. Not sure they were stabilizing properly, but they were stable enough to be minute-of-cow-turd at 50ish yards.

These heavies hold together pretty good like quarter size exits on coyotes if you stick them behind the shoulder or am I going to be tearing dogs in half?

I'm running 75 Amax yet and don't plan on changing. Have 800ish on hand and should have 2400 more early next week. H335 and CCI 450s
