4.7 has a belt not a chain, unless that changed with the body style change in 07

Just did a quick search on the 4.7. Everything I read says it has a belt.
Kind of funny...on a Toyota forum a guy went on and on about how easy it is to change one. He explained it in detail...except he was talking about the serpentine belt, not the timing belt. He was
'corrected' by others on the forum.

I know. But until he confirmed in a PM it has the 5.7, it could've had the 4.7. At $14k I would've bet money it had the 4.7.
That is an incredible price for that truck.

Good point. I just assumed it had the 5.7.

4.7 has a belt.

Belt or Chain

I've made an offer on the 06 and am waiting to hear back. Should know something either tonight or in the morning. An 06 with 42,000 miles is a rare truck and those 4.7 liter V8's and 5 speed transmissions are one of the most reliable drivetrains available. I honestly feel that the engine in that truck is one of the best Toyota has ever made

JMHO that the best engine they made was the 22R four banger.

I said "one of the best" and it is one of the best but so is the 22R. Here is my other truck
