Don't know anything about these but have a chance to buy one NIB for $500. Are they decent scopes compared to the other Vari-X III's like the 6.5-20 or 4/5-14? I think this one is 10 years old or so?????
It doesn't appear that this one in 40MM is made anymore.

They are a decent scope, not as good as the new VX-3 but certainly as good as its contemporaries. Also depending on the rifle you are planning on putting it on it may be a bit large.

Sent you a PM with some more info.

If you're planning on dialing for distance, be aware those only have 44 MOA in total adjustment to take into consideration.

I have one on a 700
VSSF I shoot 100yd BR with; they work well depending on your application. $500 is O.K. price NIB; think I paid $400 for mine, no box.
You can determine age here:

Papalondog: I actually own and use three of these WONDERFUL 8.5x25x40mm Leupold scopes.
In my lengthy experience these are THE finest colony Varminting scopes I have ever used or seen!
I have used mine for many years worth of reliable and trouble free use at the range and in the field.
If you don't buy that N.I.B. Leupold please forward the contact information to me.
