I just about to purchase a Sig Arms SRH970 in 30/06, does anyone have any information on these rifles?
Note, I live in Austalia and information on these rifles are just about non exsistent!
However, the few things I have read about these rifle's seemed all good
Any help appreciated

We have one in .270 that is super accurate with both factory and handloads.

I was truly saddened when they quit making them. frown

Here are some pictures of dad's opening morning of deer season with the SIG 970 a few years ago:

The first two does were killed during the first 20 minutes of hunting and the spike was killed about an hour later.

They haven't quit making them, they're just not imported now. I remember looking at them at gunshows thinking they were handy with a very smooth bolt stroke and priced less than $400. Never did buy one! They sell in Europe for about $1200 now.

Figures they would quit importing a good rifle at a decent price.

I had one in .270. Very nice rifle. It was the wood stocked model.

I sold it to a friend that really needed a good deer/hog rifle.

Buy it. You won't be disappointed. If you can only own in .280 . . . make sure its a SIG!
