Is in unlikely places. Neighborhood pond last weekend: that was a pretty fish, but nothin compared to this one: I nicknamed him "bruiser." I speculated somewhere around 6-8 oz, maybe slightly larger than the lure. good fishin on a warm day with some cold beer.

JPro: they put up a fight all out of proportion to their size. I'll catch em all day long, it's good fun.

Perfect eating size too. Bass are actually sunfish, and taste as good as bluegill or crappie. Release the big spawners and enjoy the smaller ones on the table.

Always fun no matter size - enjoy any you can do, and yes small fish are fun, esp on light/ultra-light tackle

Ummm, yes I did. "Bream" or "brim" is merely a colloquial name for bluegill. No different than calling largemouth "bass" when they aren't even in the bass family.
To continue the discussion, the common idea that if we throw them all back they'll grow bigger is wrong. Fish rapidly overpopulate, devour their forage base, and become stunted. We'd be way ahead if we kept a few juvenile fish for the table.

We've actually been advised by the "pond consultants" to take the big ones out. They told us if it's big enough to make a good filet, keep it. I've experienced the overpopulation issue on more than one occasion though ...

If the ones you are holding are the "big ones" then by all means take a few. They aren't, by most definitions. They're actually juveniles.
