Does anybody use this bag? It's gotten good reviews from what I've read, but I have never handled one. I'm a really cold sleeper but I'm going to try to keep my bag under 3lbs for obvious reasons, which rules out almost any 0* bags. I won't be buying a down bag, either. I'd like to hear any other suggestions for similar setups.
Thanks for any input,
Tanner

You live in dry CO. Why no down bag?

If there's an REI near you, they should have one in stock.
I use the Lamina 35 for a summer bag.
My only gripe, is the zipper is "bitchier" than Western Moutaineering. But then the bag is under half the cost of a WM. It's cut bigger for a mummy bag, which is a plus for me...
[bleep], if you wanna borrow mine for a week, PM me. I don't need it until end of May.
I'm Irish...
Of course I know how to patch drywall

Nice offer Ace. Very generous.
Tanner, I suggest a body condom before crawling in the bag.

I just snagged an ID Renaissance off of a climbing forum for $75 (yay me). If I hadn't the ultra lamina would be high on my list. Just not that many options in the category. The Montbell burrow bag #1 is ok and cheaper, but probably not as nice as the ultra lamina.

Had one. The zipper is a royal pain in the neck. Got rid of the bag for that reason. Plan on trying the KUIU down bag this fall. Not synthetic, but hydrophobic down so it's supposed to do well in wet climes. Hope so. Otherwise it's gonna be a ccccold trip.

Tanner, no zipper issues with mine and 3 sheep hunts and a few bear and deer hunts in mine in British Columbia. Probably 50 plus nights of comfort....some wearing a few clothes in the bag, and a few cold nights with quite a bit on. The 15 degree rating is very versatile in my opinion. I mail ordered in two different brands of sleeping bags and liked the MHUL15 much more than the other. Comes with a great compression stuff sack too.

I have the ul15 and the down phantom15. I'm a cold sleeper and the ul works to close to its rating. Zippers are indeed a buggar - reason being MH used too flimsy of material along the zippers and the flimsy stuff folds if you look at it wrong and bonds in the zipper. You learn how to deal with it, though.
The phantom is sweet, especially for the $150 or so I spent about 8 years ago at rei.
Both bags are a bit snug. I need something beside me to keep my elbows in tight and keep from stretching thin the insulation. Pack on one side, boots on other.

Just got the 15 degree KUIU Quix Down bag yesterday. It compares with my Marmot Helium EQ in size and elbow room but is about 4 oz lighter at 1# 15 oz. Seems like it will be warm as the Helium which is also rated to 15 degrees and that is conservative in my opinion. Gotta try it out.
Just baiting you Tanner. Where you are going for the summer I prolly would do Synthetic of some kind. A good 15 or 20 degree bag will do you good. I have a couple. Marmot and North Face Cat's Meow. Both will keep you warm if you are wet and they are wet. You probably don't need a zero degree bag that weighs 3 lbs. Just put on your long johns, Silk in early season, Merino later on.

I can only imagine the thoughts... Fits me well and nice build quality. Just got it two weeks ago so I haven't had it out. I've gotten lots of use out of the Champs, they're almost as worn out as my other pair.
