It appears we have several members here that are accomplished bear hunters that could school Boxer on how it's done! Hell anybody can kill a bear on POW, they are like varmints up there.

Where in Alberta you coming to? Up around Swan Hills. I'm going with www.swanspointoutfitters.com . He is a new outfitter. I took a chance on him last fall and had a great time. I took my first bear and had the opportunity to shoot a second one. I'm hoping the weather is decent by the time I'm going up the last week of May.

laker,
I'll feign my "surprise",that once someone said "dong"...you came crashin' outta yet another closet.
Congratulations?!?
Laffin'!
Shag,
A Goat [bleep] is indeed tough to trump, for inherent hilarity.
You are mean.
Laffin'!
urfubar,
Ain't it both a fascinating constant and a right proper Dichotomy, that there are indeed a few folks in this World, who do a few things...buy you are never one of them?!? Laffin'!
Luckily for you, Imagination and Pretend are free,so you can "participate" too. Laffin'!
Speaking of which, how long do it take on the average, for you "hard chargers" to pick out a plagiarized cartoon avatar?!? Figure it only fair,to toss you an underhand pitch and grant you opportunity to answer sumptin' in the first hand. Laffin'!
You Day Dreaming Do Nothing Dumbfhukks are a hoot!
'06,
Be sure and dangle pics, after the fact.
Only saw (1) tonight, but the wind is still wrong. Never got to glass him with the Zeiss Spotter,as he was feeding away atta goodly distance, when I saw him in the Zeiss bino's...but that glimpse were better than promisin'.(grin)
May just throw a boat on The Milford tomorrow,if only to see WTF and get The Whiners goin'.
Laffin'!

Dumbhorn, Well...you could always throw another Hissy Fit and take all your marbles and go home. Or you could keep trying to be the first Clueless Kchunt,to Whine herself "happy". Or you could go Imaginary Pretend Ignore. Laffin'! Curiously enough...none of it is going to get you on your first BIG Bear, nor get you a better job. Laffin'! Though it is entertaininger than [bleep],to listen to you belly ache. You Yuppie Kchunts are a hoot! Looking forward to your next Whine and a fresh batch of Excuses. Bless your heart. Laffin'! SuperKchunt, [bleep] HILARIOUS,that you ever "thought" you were "in" this Thread,or ANY other! As per always, the ONLY [bleep] thing you were in,was over your head...you poor poor Do Nothing Kchunt. Looking forward to more of the fascinating "particulars" of all the things you almost did,all the wares you almost had and all the places you've almost been. Lemme fuel your Imagination,if only to bolster your Pretend. Slow day. Laffin'! The G-12 is nice for early AM fill-flash,when slippin' in the shadows. Google it. The 1D3/17-40 melding,do indeed have a certain panache. Google it. Back to fill flash in the heavy cover. Google it. Heavy Chrome shoulders. Google it. The perils of stoking a GLX 1141-S with 30#PP aboard a 3000 Stradic. Makes it easy to straighten hooks upon stubborn victims, with Heavy Chrome Shoulders. Google it. [img]http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/845/lut5.jpg[/img]Laffin'! Mebbe shoot a pic of a Soup Can,street light or some of your other "harding charging" "Adventures". [bleep] WOW+P+! Laffin'! Mebbe shoot G' a PM and let her know that Blue Thunder is on a tear! Re-laffin'! Got off easy today, only broke (1) sling and ruint (1) pair of boots. Cheer up...I gots extry-extry. Tomorrow just might could bear fruit(understatement). Film at 11:00. Laffin'! 'tiam, Rain Dancin' myself...though for farrrrrrrrr better reasons. Hint. AMH, Sorta waiting on Sister to get powered all the way back up,after having been Medevac'd for Emergency Surgery, last week. She was supposed to stay outta school all week, but went back Monday anyhow.
She's on an EPIC Booner Bruin Run and only fittin' to watch her continue the streak. It really gets the Window Lickers goin'. Laffin'! 'ball', Didj'er Soup Can go Campbell's and Rice-A-Roni?!? Laffin'! SquatToPee, You suck a mean ass. Laffin'! Here's to you "living" vicariously and the Internet being as close as you'll ever come...to ANYTHING. Happy Imagination,to you. Laffin'! Damn, I hope she heals up quick and gets her bear before this heatwave takes it toll on their hides.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Hell anybody can kill a bear on POW, they are like varmints up there. If you've been paying attention, you'd have noticed the pictures Mr. Boxer (lol) has posted of dead bears and other bears of some size that got to walk. They aren't just"a bear". .........not that Larry needs defenders. I'd go to POW to shoot a bear, but I'd be too impatient and get some ground shrinkage. 5.5' to 6' is typical here and would make me happy. Greenhorn and scenar - nice bruins!

Time to get serious in the next couple weeks..I have seen 16 bears so far,but none that have got me excited... I did buy a new camera for bear hunting and long range shooting..Great zoom...I took it out yesterday for a afternoon hunt to play with it some and even managed to find a bear to film... A dink, but a bear nonetheless... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS4ySp_JF0Y&feature=youtu.be

15 yards doesn't really qualify for long range.. but I had to shoot him.
