Anyway, we're bullschitting in the garage and Gruff stops in like he does every Friday and is looking for charity beers per always.
They get to talking and it turns out they're from the same part of the world. And WyoCoyoteHunter is/was close friends with Gruff's uncle. WyoCoyoteHunter even knew Gruff's name because of the stories Gruff's uncle had told him.

Mindblowingly small world sometimes. Kinda puts things in perspective. I left to make my way in the world, been all over the country, still ran into somebody who knows my family, and mentioned my name to somebody back home and they remembered driving me on the schoolbus as a little kid. Hell, that was like 25 years ago. Times they are achangin though. My kids won't get that experience, I can't let grass grow under my feet. Still, it's cool to have that connection, kind of a tether if you will.
On to other things.
It's actually not raining today. So powder is being burned! Me, Fledave, and our boys are headed out for bears here soon. My boy was keen on painting his killing stick. Turned out pretty damn neat. I'll post pics here in a bit. Beartooth 250 grainers and 10 grains of Unique out of my Marlin and 629 is a sweet combo. 148 hard wadcutters and 7 gr Unique in the 3" mod 60 buck a bit, but the boy can put them minute of cranium double action at 8 yards. So I shouldn't get et completely.
