T and Colorado, congrats on the thunder chickens AND doing it with your kids. Great memories for both you and them. I salute you both.

Central PA crappie report: Lake Raystown temps are 67* at surface and 53* at 15 ft. Crappies just beginning to show up on wood and in mud-bottomed bays. Son #2 and I picked up 2 slabs Thurs. measuring 14 and 12.5 along with several smaller ones. Headed back to cabin for a few days at beginning of week for further "research". Hopefully, more detailed report and photos will follow later if fish and Photobucket cooperate.

I fish, therefore I am.

Ray-I looked for 'em up here last weekend but they're not up in the wood yet. Heading out tomorrow and hoping for better results. Did manage to find one very stupid walleye, but not nearly enough for a respectable fish fry.

GG, I checked my notes from last year and I was catching my first crappie at Raystown on March 29! What a difference from this year. The alewives are just moving shallow to spawn and the yellow perch just spawned within the last two weeks. Both those spawns are typically in April. And you Minnesotans are still looking for open water up north!

What happened to global warming?

I'm still harpin on dave to at least buy a preference point for deer

It's not the invite I'm concerned with. It's the getting time off to get there part. I'm REALLY hoping school doesn't screw up my tag this year for the deer type animals. But I'm thinking it might. Depends when your season opens. It looks like it's not consistNt hear to year unless I looked wrong.

Dave your last post the picture didn't show for me. I am guessing you broke ground for the new shop. I hope it works out for you. I don't know of anyone more deserving. I wish only the best for you and your wonderful wife. I love to see pictures of her. She has the most life filled eyes I have ever seen. You can see her love of life in her eyes in every picture I have ever seen of her. The youngest boy has that same gleam in his eyes. You can just see his love of life in his eyes.

Thanks.

Yesterday was Dusty's birthday, We didn't forget, it was just kind of a quiet day I guess.

On a lighter note, wow do I have birds at the bird feeders. Dozens of gold finches at once, a few orioles, grosbeak, a very pretty scarlet tanager, some doves picking around on the ground, dozens of pesky blue jays... still no humming birds.

Cool, damp, cloudy day here, high in the mid 50's.

Not seeing much for birds, but do we ever have the squirrels. We have nearly a dozen black squirrels in the neighborhood now. They're actually quite common in this part of the state.

Picked up 2.5 inches of rain yesterday.
