Greetings to all,
I live in the Philippines but hunt in the States every couple of years and I leave my rifle with a cousin who lives in California. After use, I thoroughly clean the barrel and run a wet patch down the bore soaked with Break Free. Is this enough protection or can anybody out there recommend a better product to protect the bore for extended periods?
I have another rifle which I leave with a friend in New Jersey but he is gun savvy so I have no problems with that firearm.
Thank you.

There are better protective oils than Break-Free, but I'd install Dyna Bore-Coat, which permanently protects the bore, along with vastly reducing fouling.

When it's time to use the rifle again, what do you recommend to remove the product from the bore? Can I just run a wet patch soaked in Kroil? Thank you.

Just clean as usual with non-abrasive cleaners. The Bore-Coat is pretty much so permanent.
