Anyone have a NICE frame setup as a daypack without a MR bag? Maybe a couple of pouches and a compression panel/load sling? If anyone has something rigged up like this, would you mind posting some pictures? Thanks.

I tried it and too heavy and not comfortable is my opinion. I like my Horn Hunter Full Curl better. I would go with a Kifaru Spike or Late Season for a day pack.

I'd love a Late Season, but I'm not spending that much for a day pack.

I also tried the Longbow. A really nice pack. So well build. But like the others have said - just unnecessarily heavy.

I hear you, it is a lot but good gear. Keep an eye for used and as said I really like my Horn Hunter Full Curl frame! Even with Kifaru packs I still use the Horn Hunters a good bit!

For the price the Badlands 2200 is a great option. I've seen them as low as $125.

I was going to get a HH setup, but the NICE frame kind of fell into my lap and was a really good deal. Wish I had the cash to get a bag right now, but I guess I'll save up some change for a Metcalf or a Longbow.

Buy once, cry once. The Hill People Gear Ute with a Tara Pocket is similar in size and superior in every way to the Kifaru, IMO. It has 24in stays, like the Legacy Late Season, and can haul a load, or, unlike the Late, can be compressed down to a small/thin day pack.

kenaiking has a Longbow for sale in the classifieds that will take less change than a new one, by a fair amount.
