I just bought a new Anschutz 1416 D HB. Lets say for the fun of it that money is no factor. So what scope would you put on this rifle. I am leaning to the Nightforce NXS compact 2x10x42.

Don't mess with me, I'm too old to fight, too fat to run, so I going to have to kill you.

What are you planning on doing with the rifle? Competitive offhand, benchrest, informal target, varmint hunting?

If money is no object, step up to a real quality scope. They have a 2.5-25X.

Informal target and varmint. Practice, practice and more practice.

I already have a Nightforce nxs 5.5x22x56 on a 6mm LR and its about the same price as a NXS compact so I could go with either one.

How close will that scope focus? I haven't looked at the specs of the NF but if it were me I would put a Leupold 6.5-20 EFR on a target 22.

For a target - Hunting scope the VX2 4-12X40 AO find duplex is very nice.

You don't want a scope that won't focus at 25 and 50 yards or else that magnification is no benefit for target shooting with a 22.

Thats a very good point that I will need to check out.

I like small bells on rimfires. At any price; schmit and bender. I also like clear glass and less magnification.

What does anscutz suggest?

For smaller a Leupold 3X9 EFR is hard to beat.

I'm still leaning toward the 2x10x42 compact nightforce with the MOAR reticle. But every suggestion has been given a lot of thought.

Leupold 3.5 X 10 A.O. is my choice for rimfires.

The AO lets you adjust parralax down to close in rimfire ranges and allows you use 10X while still being focused.

Have them on my Cooper 17 and on my Ruger 22 Hornet for "guarding" 20 and 30 yard bird feeders from "varmits"

Plus you get the great lense coatings of the VX111

Well all the decisions have been made. The Anschutz 1416 HB Classic is in hand. The Nightforce NXS 2x10x42 compact C458 is ordered and I'm taking the walnut stock off and installing a XLR Evolution alloy chassis in it's place. I think it's going to be one fine fire stick.
