Clear up to 87! laugh

The rest of the ten-day forecast looks ahead to the low 80s under bright sun and 0% likelihood of precipitation.

With the area as dry as it is, I'm surprised that the forest (especially our favorite rendezvous camp ground) isn't closed yet. Fire danger is "High," of course.

Don't have one yet.

Expect to get one today just in case it gets really HOT here this summer. laugh

Beats me how I ever survived those south-Alabama summers with temperatures as high as 120 and humidity close to 100%.

Air-conditioners were something that only some rich folks had and of course there weren't any in the fields.

One thing that makes the heat here bearable is the nightly lows high 40s and low 50s now and for the next few days.

I wish you had some of our rain. I just poured out 1.5 inches since I emptied it yesterday. Yard and garden is a mess. Grass and insects are killing me in the garden and all I can do is keep it drained. I dust a little but it rains and washes it off. My Brother in law had over $200,000 worth of damage to his grain bins last Friday in a storm with high straight winds. Lots of corn and wheat blown down. It is time to cut wheat but it is too wet and quality is going down by the day. miles

keep the faith. humans are an adaptable lot. if the scaly tailed rats can survive variable changes in the weather, we humans can always do better. right?

I'm starting to like the sounds of your part of the world these days!

Come check it out for yourself at the Campfire rendezvous here in mid-August. You'll find yourself cap-deep in a horde of great guys, eat more great grub than you should, and wish that such shenanigans could go on forever.

See the sticky.
