Just received a new photoscope and shot a couple pictures out of the house window before it got dark. Have not messed with any settings yet, just pulled it out of the box and shot a few. To say the least I am very impressed and will keep hanging pictures as I find some interesting ones. Link to it on other site I have them posted on. Thought some of you might find it interesting.

Forgot to say I got this from Doug at Cameraland, ordered it on I think Tuesday morning and had it in my hands this afternoon. Could not be happier.

Since it is Zeiss I'm assuming the direct view through the scope is not compromised by the camera. I know you have probably not been able to put it down yet. Any lunar shots? What's the close focus distance? Pleiades?

I think 10 ft on close focus, don't quote me on that but thinking that is right, direct view is not compromised at all and is exactly as I suspected it would be, outstanding. Was just out looking for the moon but no show yet as I was having the same thoughts as you about lunar shots. I am thinking this is going to be a blast to pack around. Always concerns about electronics but it seems very well built as you would expect and even if electronics foul up at some point you still have an exceptional spotting scope.

One of my brother's and his son went to Africa a year ago and were going to go with a similar scope. The scope was expensive and after see the photo's took with it, nixed the idea. Instead they rented a Canon 600mm f4 i thing it was. problem with the long prime leen's is cost. 500mm f4 is about $10,500, the 600 f4 about $13000.

I didn't seer the photo's with the spotting scope my brother saw so could you post a couple?

Here are a few more pics, keep in mind that these are all taken from 9PM to 2AM in heavy clouded skies, lighting was less than desirable and it did pretty good for what I was asking. Will post more as time goes on and more critters show up. I am no bird man but that was what was available to shoot.
