They recalled the rankings.

I could care less about initial quality; I want to know how they hold their quality and value. It's tough to beat Toyota in those categories. Top that off with the fact that Toyotas are at least as much US made as any truck in the category (more than some), and it's hard to knock the Toyos.
America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

Only issue I have with Toyota is recalls.!
My ma owns one and it seems like there's a recall every month, but it's held up well.

Its not that I dislike Toyotas (I put well north of 330,000 miles on my Tacoma with little trouble), but it just shows that the new toyotas aren't what the old ones were.

Every company has peaks and valleys in quality over the long term.
What is worth noting is that Toyota doesn't wait until their is a congressional investigation regarding the safety of their vehicles before issuing a recall or dealing with a problem.

I'm still scratching my head about a Honda Ridgeline as a midsize pickup Now 7K on my 2014 F150, and it's a decent truck. A few quirks, but nothing I would yet call non-working or defective.

1/2 ton pickups
1.Ford 2.Toyota 3.Dodge
I have a 2013 RAM in bought late 2013, 5k miles and never been back to the dealer. My wife had one issue with her 2011 RAM traction control that took a few trips to get figured out, but it's the only problem we have had in 50k miles. Even third place is pretty darn compared to 20 years ago.

I don't put a whole lot of stock JD Powers rankings. They are well paid for their endorsements.
Personally, I tend to like cars that don't make the list as those cars are usually the best made.

Same thing with Honda. Honda likes to fix things before it turns into multimillion dollar law suits.

Getting vehicle info from JD Powers is like getting current events from the white house.

I always liked the looks of the older Tacomas, the regular and extended cab models, up until about 2005, when they went to the current body. Of course, then I heard the older models had frame breakage issues A smaller truck would sometimes be useful for hunting trips, but the Tacos get about the same fuel economy as an F150 One of our young engineers got to jonesing for a Ram EcoDiesel, and found they were asking $60k for them. Which will buy a damn nice 3/4 ton Diesel He's keeping his Cummins.

Toyota waited on the accelerator problem. My 2005 was falling apart in the first year. I traded it after about a year because I never had more dealer visits(and bad service) with any manuf. Every company has peaks and valleys in quality over the long term.

46K on my 2011 tacoma and not a single glitch or burp.
That is what I paid for.
I could have got my FIL's GM discount and saved a ton of money but after 20 years (three brand new Siverados) of GM I had enough of the poor quality.
It was time for a truck that provided more reliability and higher resale/trade-in value.
