I'm glad to hear your Dad has his rifle back.
It was really unfortunate what his brother did. ( I understand, having experienced something similar. )
Even with all his 'bionic' parts, I hope he gets out in the woods and scores.
Your story is why I like to use my Grandfathers Parker and a couple of other rifles.

Funny, this story is at least as old as 2007.

A little more info about the DIY/OP.

Certainly could not be true. DIYguy just stated this last night:

"Im hoping he scores. He does not have many hunts left in him. A heart attack and 5 stents, twice blocked carotid. No hearing or teeth left and both knees replaced and bad eyes."

But I looked it up, and you are right. There are several forums where it was posted, the first being in 2007.

It might have been a good idea for him just to tell the posters the story was seven years old, and that his Father had probably already done his "special" hunt with the Krag. Sort of makes Smoes of those who took his story to heart, believing it had just all happened and that his Father was on his way to what would seem like a hunt of a lifetime for him after all that had happened over the years frown

This sorta' schmoozing / jacking around (on DIY's part) just creeps me out,.....

Little or no interest in watching a tormented soul bare itself repeatedly.

Damn sure nothing funny about his schtick,.....and his untrustwothiness is almost mind boggling.

....the truth ain't in him.
