Agree,
Cat mounts are hard to do and great ones are the exception, not the rule, IMHO.
That one is great.

Great looking cat, any chance that you can give us your taxidermist name, and area that he is from?

I think your guy needs to work on his skills. That mount is nothing compared to the famous "WILDCAT:" https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth..._Wild_Cat_Taken_with_my_S_W_#Post4589130
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum. I do tend to fit in well wherever I go in person. The campfire is the most outside exposure I get. No TV, no newspaper.

I'm no great judge, so just to my eyes, that is one of the best looking mounts I've ever seen. I like every thing about it. Thanks for posting it.

Seems that cats are one of the hardest to get right for taxidermists. Yours looks very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Great looking cat, any chance that you can give us your taxidermist name, and area that he is from? The Taxidermist is Carol Graham of Dream Season Taxidermy out of Rochester NY. She doesn't do a lot of lifesize mammals but I did get to look at a couple of bobcats she had done previously so I took the chance. Dream Season That cat had 2- #4 buck in the head that had me real worried that the face was not going to come out well, but given what she had to work with I'm well pleased.

I think it looks great, especially considering the head damage. Plus you never know if the skinning/fleshing/tanning process was done correctly. Its pretty cool that you were able to harvest one and get it mounted. They are not something you run across everyday except maybe in certain parts of the country. Here is a pic of the last one I had done. I thought it was pretty good:

Getting a good cat mount seems to be rare enough that I dread opening a thread titled "Got my bobcat mount!" Most of the time the mount isn't good and I seldom comment because frankly I don't have anything good to say.
That isn't the case here. That mount is very nice, congrats on your kill and mount. I love bobcats!
