Got home at 5, went to bed. Woke up to the dog barking and my phone ringing. Voice on the other end was a trooper I know

I walk out on the porch and see a black 1 ton dodge planted firmly in the front passenger side of my dept issued vehicle
Driver is a gashole, er natural gas indistry worker from La who fell asleep, hit another vehicle and ended up where he did. Let the paperwork begin

I worked 18 hours yesterday, on 2 hours of sleep the night before. I was dead to the world this morning. But tupically No i'm so used to traffic outside and with the AC running And house shut up, i don't hear mich of anything

Maybe they should bring back the idea of a motorpool. Keep our expensive assets locked up safely instead of left unprotected along the street for vandals and accidents.
Guess you never heard all the carnage with your sleep apnea c pap running on 11.

It was actually cheaper than a new tahoe on bid. So we boought two of them to replace a couple of 2002 crown vics They run them farther today it seems. I remember the vehicle lot in Austin back in the early 80's. If you needed patrol cars for the sheriff's dept. or police dept., you could go pick them out, and they would paint it for you as well. Most had 60-65k miles on them. Which was pretty low miles. I got the pick of the litter as my detective car once there. 1980 Newport with a 360 Premium with a quadrajet. It was used as an interstate hwy. "pursuit car"... Had an airplane fuel bladder in the trunk and air shocks to level the load of it. Of course they took that fuel tank out. That car would RUN! Wasn't very "undercover" though... Even painted midnight blue.
