More I read up on their new shipping charges, looks more and more like a gimmick!

This is interesting. I tried to order from Midway in the past and something was always on back order. Usually I'll build up a list of small items to make a reasonable size order and they never had it all. They wanted me to pay separate shipping as items came in and for low cost items that ain't gonna happen when I can get it all at once somewhere else. May have to try them again.

Don't go bitching when you place an order for a box of bullets or two, and Midways ships it USPS flat rate and the [bleep] goes east or west across country when it only needed to go south, and takes a few more days to boot. Myself, I prefer they ship ASAP and it takes a direct route to my house and I don't pay sales tax and I don't have to drive 75 frack'n miles to find two boxes of bullets and spending 8.00 bucks in gas. I like Midway and RockAuto as well. In other words, be careful what you wish for

I've never had a problem with their shipping cost because I seldom bought product that was not on sale or placed an order less than $100.
What always bugged me when they used peanuts was being able to track the UPS driver by the trail of bullets that leaked out of the box.

Ordered 500 rounds of CCI 22 std, shipping was close to $12, but Midway is next day delivery for me if I keep them from doing the USPS job security shenanigans, so good enough.

Just found out that they shipped my order to a different city. The guy sounded new to me, so it is probably my fault for not walking him through the order process! They have already shipped so I have to wait until Midway receives the order back, then they will reship to the correct address. Guess I will go to the store and buy it! Good thing that I can always use cleaning supplies.

Good on them. Some of us complained about their shipping costs, they listened and have attempted to fix the problem.
That is exactly how a business should operate. Nobody is perfect, but when you can say, "ok there is a problem, let's see how we can fix it", and then honestly try to make things better that is a good thing.
Governments at all levels should take notice and try applying the lesson. bawhawaaaaaaaaaaaa! never will .gov even notice. been fighting for a year just to get my mail. after 5 years they started sending it back with a forwarding expired notice and the wrong "correct address".

Got the email, too.
I haven't ordered from Midway or anywhere else in years, but this seems to be a positive change for them. I'm happy for anything that may improve business for gun companies. (Well, anything except panic buying, that is.)
Shipping is a major expense for anything ordered online, as I know from sending books. Reducing that cost helps customers, and therefore helps me - and any other supplier.
Kudos to Midway.
