"An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown

Jaguars have the biggest strongest jaws of any N.A. cat. They regularely kill things by crushing the scull, not chocking things down as other cats do. Big lizard for breakfast!

You know, when our Russian Blue mix is sitting on the back of the couch, looking at me with pupils like slits, and tail flipping back and forth, I know what she's thinking: How can I jump on his throat, choke the life out of him, and then drag his fat ass out of the house and up a tree so I can nibble on his hams for a little while. I know that's what she's thinking...and I don't trust her for a minute, 'cause she'll eventually figure it out!

Saw a vid of a Tiger in the Sunderbans grabbing, killing and walking off with about 14" worth of croc. Another of mama Tiger chowing down on a large retic python she killed 'cuz it was a threat to her cubs. Tigers and Jaguars are awesome killing machines. I LOVE 'EM!!

This is one special that was made a couple years ago. One tigress lived in an area of Indian religious sanctuaries, and raised several litters of cubs there. Despite many pilgrims over the years walking through her territory, she never bothered any humans. One filmmaker spent years following her, and got some great footage. She is the one who was filmed killing a large croc - something she apparently specialized in doing.

She was a very smart tigress...

I think Jags may have the strongest bite of any big cat period, they regularly crack open turtles too. I always liked this video of a tiger jumping up on an elephant after the rider...makes any hang time by Jordan look pathetic:

Ho, chalk one up for the tiger!

Here's an entire documentary on the jaguar doing exactly what you said: eating a turtle. Amazing jaws.
