Hi guys. In the next couple days I'm finally going to be able to get out to the range and shoot my Colt Official Police so I am going to pick up some rounds for it today. My question is this, since I have fixed sights what bullet weight would be ideal for 25 yards? Do heavier weight bullets print low or high? I'm thinking of picking up a couple boxes of different weights, but not sure which to start with. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Most of the older 38's were regulated to the 158 grain RN lead bullet at 25 yards, the target wadcutters in 148 grain will hit same POA.

Any issues with the Winchester USA brand ammo? The local shop has Winchester Win-Clean in 125 grain, Winchester USA LRN in 150 grain and JSP in 125 grain. I'm thinking of buying a box of each to see how they shoot. Should I do that or just get a couple of the 150 grain LRN?

The heavier the bullet, typically the higher it will print. Yes, your gun should be regulated for a 158 grain round nose lead bullet at normal pressure (typically, about 750-800fps). I think youll find your gun to be a rather accurate one.

Sam, I would stick with the ones I mentioned, your revolver should be a tack driver with them.
